Delware and More

After many month's of talk I finally did my drive through the 1st state, Delaware. It was a little longer then I thought but all in all it was a successful trip. The only area I did not get to was Wilmington, which I will get to in the coming months.

As for the theatres only one that was still standing was not a movie house, the Milford, but as a church. I also went to look for the sign of the recently closed Diamond State Drive-In at Felton but could not locate it.

The following week I was on the road again and was able to snap a few more shots of PA theatres and a new drive-in. The Cumberland Drive-In in Newville, PA is located just off the Blue Mountain exit on the PA Turnpike, or can also be accessed by taking the Carlisle exit, on the turnpike, and following Rt 81 to PA Route 233 and follow it north to Rt 11 and take a right. The drive in is just to your right after the turn. Showtimes can be located at http://drivein.81fun.com/ .

Also another person has contributed a picture to this site. John Scott who took the picture of the Pharaoh 4 in Independence, MO. Thanks John.

After Another Long Delay

A recent trip to New York was very successful and I have added a number of pictures from my trek across that great city. The Cinema Village East looks like it is getting a face lift, so I'll be back up there soon to get a updated picture.

Also an another new person, Allen "Breezy" Brintzenhoff has added a picture of a theatre he came across in California, PA.

Thanks for Stopping By.

Happy New Year

Hopefully your year has started out in a up swing. I added a few pictures from a trip I took a few years back. At first I was not sure to post them.

One case is the Strand from Evanston, WY. Theatre had just burnt down days before I got to town, I'm not sure if the owners/community ever got it back up and running. A brief search online only gave me a article about an attempt to fix the building. But my picture is of the aftermath, and it was sad. On my trip many towns that I visited out west had nice old theatres that gave some charm the town, hopefuuly Evanston can get the Strand back up and running.

Just Wondering?

So I have been getting a number of new hits and I wondered where they are coming from. So I wanted to ask that if you have stopped by if you would not mind to add with a comment where you’re from. You don't have to but it’s really just for me to see how far reaching my site is. Thanks for your cooperation. Nick

New Pictures

After a very long draught I final added some new pictures. I have to get back up to New York soon since I just hit the top of the barrel, there are many many more theatres there that I need to capture on film.

Also I have to thank the many people who are coming to this site. For months the counter at the bottom of this page hardly moved but now it seems to move daily. I promise to my new views that I will try to get new pictures up each month. As of now a trip to Delaware is in the works and also to finally to finish up the Philadelphia region.
